Most good things in life require patience. Building your professional career, raising your children or growing a tree, all of which takes years and possibly decades.
As you progress towards your goal, inevitably, you will encounter challenges; toxic bosses at work, ungrateful teenagers or insect infestation of your beloved tree. Challenges will continue to arise again and again. Sometimes, it may seem like it never ends.
Cultivating patience helps you to overcome obstacles while maintaining your sanity.
Patience is the ability to endure difficult situations in an even-tempered manner over time. A patient person has strong self-control. They are mindful of themselves and others, manage their emotions, and remain calm in difficult situations.
Patience is a life-long practice, and it requires perseverance, persistence and the ability to tolerate pain, strain or provocation.
You need the patience to cultivate patience within. Sometimes, a situation can be intolerable, and the only thing you can do is show up and be present. That in itself is patience, and it is enough.
Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting. Anonymous
